Groove Phi Groove Social Fellowship, Inc. was founded at Morgan State College (now Morgan State University) on October 12, 1962 by fourteen young, black men who wanted to change the way we thought about brotherhood.
Our founders established the Fellowship to promote academic awareness, ethical standards, and unity among men that attended institutions of higher education. They wanted to create intelligent and effective leadership, able to study and solve a communities social problems. They moved with a collective vision to improve a world that was ready for new & revolutionary ideas.
Little did our founders know in 1962 that the fruits of their efforts at would evolve into a thriving movement that continues to play an important role in developing and nurturing Black America.
