North Carolina HBCU Living Legends Scholarship Gala
The North Carolina HBCU Living Legends Scholarship Gala is an event sponsored by community-based volunteer organization The HBCU Living Legends Calendar and Gala. The mission of this volunteer initiative is to raise need based scholarships for students attending one of the eleven Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in North Carolina.
Scholarship funds are generated through donations from individuals and businesses, the sales of the commemorative “Living Legends” calendar and the “Living Legends Scholarship Gala”. The volunteers of The HBCU Living Legends Calendar and Gala are residents of North Carolina and understand the importance of helping students cover college expenses outside of tuition.
For this year’s gala event, Groove Phi Groove Social Fellowship Incorporated is invited by The HBCU Living Legends Calendar and Gala to join in honoring Charlotte businessman, Willie Gray and retired NBA player, Earl Monroe as 2017 HBCU Living Legends awards recipients. Mr. Gray and Mr. Monroe, both members of our Fellowship, are two of thirty-three alumni who will be celebrated for their achievements. The gala will be August 26, 2017 in the Grand Pavilion of the Embassy Suites in Winston-Salem NC.
Fellowmen Gray and Monroe are exemplary examples of achievement, leadership, and represent our organization well. We are proud of their achievements and need to support this event.
